Honoring Our Legacy: The Donor Pedestal Re-Design Project is Complete
For seven decades, Mt. Soledad National Veterans Memorial has stood as a beacon of honor, remembrance, and hope. Every year, over 300,000 visitors walk our grounds—each step a journey through the stories of heroism, resilience, and profound dedication that define the American military experience.
As our nation marks the 250th anniversary of American independence, we're thrilled to announce the completion of our Donor Pedestal Re-Design Project. This meaningful restoration comes at a profound moment—a time to reflect on the courage and sacrifice that has shaped our nation, and to rededicate ourselves to preserving those stories for generations to come.
The beautifully restored bronze donor pedestals now stand prominently on our front steps, celebrating the individuals and organizations whose partnership makes our mission possible. This year, more than ever, they stand as symbols of our collective commitment to honoring those who have served.

More Than a Memorial—A Living Legacy
Our memorial is not just stone and plaques. It is a dynamic platform for preserving the memories of veterans across generations, educating young Americans about the true meaning of service, and creating a living, breathing connection between past sacrifices and future inspirations.
Powered by dedicated volunteers and community partners, we are cultivating a living community of remembrance, learning, and profound respect. Yet preserving and expanding this mission demands more than passion—it demands strategic partnership and investment.
A Project Built on Partnership
We're deeply grateful to Mark O'Connell for volunteering his design expertise, and to Rob Neuroth and Joe Sarapichillo of Neuroth Construction for their skilled stewardship of the brick and masonry work.
We also extend our heartfelt thanks to the fine metal smiths of Creative Metals—owner Mike Paprocki and his team—who fabricated the beautiful bronze placards with exceptional craftsmanship. And to Curtis and Cory Wylie, father and son, who run Meacor Sign Company and skillfully installed the new bronze placards to the pedestals.
All of the companies and individuals involved in this project delivered a remarkable level of quality craftsmanship and completed the work ahead of schedule. These partnerships—rooted in a shared commitment to honoring our veterans—are what make projects like this possible.
